Raul Will Always Be A Star At Real Madrid - Alfredo di Stefano

Raul's position will not be changed at Real Madrid by new signings as he has proven himself over so many years at the club, according to Alfredo di Stefano.

Alfredo di Stefano has heaped praise on Raul for maintaining his form. The Argentine legend does not think that Real Madrid's policy of buying the world's best players will see the 31-year-old’s career shortened.

Los Merengues' captain was reported to be unhappy when Florentino Perez's Galactico era was in full swing and if he returns as president then a host of new players could join the club.

That will not be a problem for the player who is just one goal short of di Stefano’s record, according to the club legend himself.

"Raul is intelligent and knows where to run. He is crafty and knows what to do at all times and that is why he has always played for Real Madrid and still does," di Stefano told AS.

"New coaches come each year and they never leave him out because he is better than the rest."

"When I say that Raul is a player for the team, I mean that football is a team sport and friendship is important within that."

"The Madrid side I played in was like that. Barcelona had the players with the famous names and we did not, but we were a team. They had names and we had quality."
