Raúl To Calderon: Schuster Has Been Sensational

Beleaguered Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has received more support from his troops and this time, it is captain, Raúl who has stepped up to endorse his coach to president, Ramón Calderón.

There appears to be more meetings than training sessions at the Bernabéu in the past few days as Bernd Schuster scrambles to save his job following a string of abysmal performances and results.

The latest gathering took place throughout yesterday, the first of which came in the morning between club captain, Raúl and Schuster in a private affair, before the pair commenced a group assemblage with the rest of the squad.

Later in the evening, Raúl met up with president Calderón in his Bernabéu office and according to Radio Marca, the talk was a cordial but positive encounter. It is believed that the veteran captain thanked the supremo for staying in close contact with the team throughout this crisis.

“Schuster has been sensational” were the forward’s first words when he was asked to recount the events that took place in the initial morning meeting. He described his coach as confident and optimistic ahead of Saturday’s potential make-or-break clash with Real Valladolid.

He also praised the German-born trainer for his attitude and willingness to listen to the players’ ideas and solutions to solve the team’s current predicament. And he finally assured that the gathering has reinforced the squad and that everyone in the team remains united to move past their crisis.

Only time will tell if all the inspirational speeches from the past few days will bear any fruit.
