Raul reveals World Cup dreams

Real Madrid striker Raúl Gonzalez believes Spain's time has come and is dreaming of lifting the World Cup next summer.

The Madrid-born number nine reckons that Spain's time has come to make a push for the coveted trophy, and he told the Madrid Football Federation's official magazine on Wednesday: "It's the only title I'm missing and the only one that all Spanish people want."

"The Spanish selection is highly respected in this competition and we are usually amongst the six or seven favourites to go all the way. In the World Cup finals that I have taken part in, I don't think we've had much luck - in the United States finals we should have been amongst the four top teams."

Regarding his own development, Raúl added: "I hope that we'll see an even better Raúl, I'm working hard to improve every day and I think that physically, I can improve a bit. If I don't achieve that then at least I'll keep myself in shape, but it's a constant struggle."
