Real Madrid will not give up on La Primera this season according to Raul, who says they will keep fighting until the end.

The defending champions trail Barcelona by six points at the moment and with just eleven games seem to have a hard task on their hands to catch them.

Speaking to AS, Raul declared that they will not give up though and will keep on going until the final day.

"We can do it and we know it is possible, even though the gap is important. We have to commit as few errors as possible, go game by game and pick up three points each time, but if Barcelona continue as they are, all we can do is congratulate them. We will not give up though," he explained.

"It is easier for us to win at this stage than five matches ago. While there are points in play we are going to fight, we will try to close the gap, but we are going to go game by game, as I said before. Every day, different things can happen so we will see what the future holds and who reaches the end first."

Certainly at the moment Barcelona are the firm favourites and Real Madrid have a tough test against Almeria this weekend.

The match will mark the return of Hugo Sanchez to the club where he spent many years a player and Raul knows it will be special.

"He is doing very good work. I am sure that for him it will be very special. They will make it difficult for us because they will want to show their potential," he concluded.
