Raul: Real Madrid kids good enough

Real Madrid skipper Raul insists the club's management still value their youth system.

Raul, Real's most famous youth product, has hit out at claims from former Real B stars that there's no chance for local players to make it at the Madrid giants.

The striker said: "In the juniors of Real Madrid there are players with great potential and quality, although to reach the first team is very complicated and also depends much on the circumstances and necessities."

"For example, now we have Miguel Torres, who has perfectly covered the problems that we had at fullback. He's taken a few games, but is doing very well and has gained the confidence of the trainer."

"If he continues this way he will continue with us and he will be a very important player for the future."

Raul added: "The Castilla has much merit, although they've lost some games this season. But it is a group of very young players who are developing very well in a division that is very difficult."

"Mata, Adrian, De la Red, Javi Garcia and Torres have enormous potential and also so do those that come from further down, the cadets, youth and juniors."
