Raul: Eto'o never wanted to leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid captain Raul is convinced Barcelona ace Samuel Eto'o never wanted to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Asked about Eto'o's furious blast at Barca teammates last week, Raul said: "Samuel has a very strong personality and he does not like to keep quiet about things. He has one way to act and I have another one. Sometimes, I had to think more about the values of the club and the group than myself. Even so, I respect him a lot."

"I believe that he wanted to succeed at Real Madrid. His dream was always to do that, but circumstances didn't allow him to."

"Even when he was on-loan at Mallorca he wanted to return to Madrid and he did not want to leave for Barcelona, but in the end he did."
