Raul closing in on Spanish scoring record

Raul's goal in Spain's 1-0 win over Mexico took the Real Madrid striker up to equal third in his country's list of international goalscorers.

Raul has now scored 23 goals in 49 games, level with Argentine-born Alfredo Di Stefano, who scored 23 in 31 internationals for Spain.

Raul's Real Madrid team mate Fernando Hierro is Spain's top scorer with 27 in 83 matches, followed by Emilio Butragueno (26 in 69).
