Raul Albiol: Real Madrid Can Win The Treble

Raul Albiol believes that Real Madrid are capable of winning the treble this season, but thinks that the team need to focus on each game before looking too far ahead.

The Spain international defender joined Los Merengues from Valencia this summer and is revelling in his new surroundings after his extended holiday.

Now integrated into the Madrid squad, Albiol thinks that the quality at the club means that they have to be competing for everything even though he knows which trophy he would like most.

"We have a chance of winning the treble," he told Marca. "But the Champions League is the competition that generates the greatest excitement."

"Before we can consider any of that though, we have to go little-by-little and see what happens."

Despite the large number of world famous names at the club, Albiol has revealed that nobody behaves like they are the best and have all welcomed him.

"It has been incredible. But the players in the squad are just normal people," he continued.

In his first year, Albiol will wear the number 18 shirt that Ruben De la Red had to give up after being told he could not yet return to football following his heart scare.

"I am proud to have been given Ruben De la Red's number, but I hope that next year he comes back to take it off me," the centre-back added.
