Raul aims for Spanish scoring record against Germany

Spanish striker Raul will become Spain's all-time leading goal-scorer if he finds the net in Wednesday's friendly international at home to Germany.

Raul's 29th international goal in last year's Euro 2004 qualifier against Greece allowed him to draw level with his Real Madrid team mate Fernando Hierro as the country's top scorer.

The 25-year-old missed Spain's last two games, both friendlies, but he will be back to lead the line against Germany when he will have the record firmly in his sights.

"I'll just try to help the side but if I do score a goal it will be very nice," Raul said on the eve of the match.

"If it doesn't happen tomorrow I hope it can happen some other time."
