Ramos wants to follow Hierro success at Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos wants to repeat the success of his hero, Fernando Hierro, at Real Madrid.
 
Hierro left Madrid two seasons ago after 14 years at the Bernabeu and Ramos, who has signed on until 2013, hopes for a similar future.

"It was hard to sleep last night because I have come to a club I have dreamed about," he said.

"I am happy and although I have a few doubts, the shirt I would like to wear is the number '4'. It would be an honour to wear the shirt Hierro wore."

Ramos is now with the Spain squad preparing for Saturday's friendly against Canada and next week's vital World Cup qualifier against Serbia & Montenegro.

"Everyone has congratulated me and told me to be calm about things," he added.

"I am happy to have joined Madrid although I am not the person to say if I am worth all that money."
