Ramos Given All-Clear To Face BATE

Sergio Ramos is set to play in Real Madrid's first Champions League game of the new season against BATE Borisov after he was given the green light by club medics.

The Spain international was considered to be doubtful for the European encounter after missing Los Merengues' close victory over Numancia at the weekend.

After missing training on Monday it was believed that coach Bernd Schuster would have to do without the services of the powerful on Wednesday.

Now though it appears that Ramos will be able to play after he underwent a test on his groin on Tuesday morning and was given the all-clear to play.

There was some controversy over the injury after Madrid stated that their player had reported back from international duty with the knock and demanded an explanation.

Spanish doctors and officials stated that Ramos had left them last week, after two World Cup qualifiers, without having any physical problems and rejected the allegations.

Pepe and Rubén De la Red are both definitely out through suspension after seeing red cards in their preivous European outings, while Wesley Sneijder is still injured.
