Ramos delighted Metzelder joining Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is delighted with the club's capture of Borussia Dortmund centre-half Christoph Metzelder.

The Germany international will join Real at the end of this season on a Bosman and Ramos declared: "Metzelder is one of the best players in the centre-half position. Also he is very good in the air. If the deal has already been closed it is very good for the club and he will be welcome inside the Madrid dressing room."

As Metzelder arrives, Real are preparing for the departure of David Beckham and Ramos added: "David is a player we all admire and we are going to do everything we can so he has a successful farewell. Nobody in the world has his ability to strike a ball. In set-piece plays he is phenomenal."
