Racing Santander in more talks for Real Madrid's Helguera

Racing Santander supremo Francisco Pernia held a new round of talks yesterday with Real Madrid over defender Ivan Helguera.

Pernia wants to thrash out a deal with Real now, even though Helguera won't be eligible to play for Racing until the winter market opens.

Helguera is understood to be seeking compensation from Real over the remaining three years of his contract, which was signed only last season.
