Queiroz Wants Henry Or Van Nistelrooy

Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz has identified Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry as his top summer transfer targets.

The Spanish giants are expected to sign yet another superstar this summer to continue president Florentino Perez's policy that has seen Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronalo and David Beckham arrive at the Bernabeu.

"If I had to pick, my preferences would be Van Nistelrooy and Henry," Querioz told Marca.

"They have both reached maturity and Henry is at the peak of his strengths."

However, it would seem unlikely that Real would be able to sign either of the Premiership stars as Van Nistelrooy signed a lucrative long-term contract only last month, while Arsenal have repeated vowed that Henry isn't for sale.

Another big name star to be linked with the Spanish champions is Italian striker Francesco Totti, but Queiroz doesn't see the Roma star as the right man for Madrid.

"At present, I don't think Totti is what Madrid most needs," he added.

The speculation will continue to bewilder many as Real's need for a defender should be their biggest concern.
