Queiroz Hits Out At Makelele's Departure

Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz has attacked Claude Makelele over the way he left the club.

"The way in which it all happened is not good for football," he said. "If a player tries to get transferred by refusing to train then it puts football at risk."

"He used methods which threaten the principles of contractual and professional relations."

"I have also had excellent opportunities that I have not accepted because there are certain values which you can't leave behind."
