Quaresma: Figo urged me to join Barcelona

Barcelona signing Ricardo Quaresma has revealed Luis Figo urged him to sign with the Catalan giants.

Quaresma scored a superb goal against Juventus this week in the USA and told AS, "It is no secret. Luis advised me that I should accept the offer. He said Barca is a very great institution and that I could learn many things if I went to the Nou Camp."

Real Madrid ace Figo has a had poor relationship with Barcelona fans and the previous management at the club since his move from the Nou Camp two years ago.

Quaresma added, "I wanted to follow Figo's path to Barcelona. I was a fan when I was younger and enjoyed watching him play for Barcelona. Barca have always been my team, from when I was very young to now."
