Brief reports of Primera Liga matches played on Sunday:

BARCELONA 1 ATLETICO MADRID 3

Atletico lived up to their reputation as Barca's bogey team by ending the Catalan's 14-match winning streak in the league, Fernando Torres repeating his feat of last season and scoring a double at the Nou Camp.

Torres put Atletico in front on 33 minutes when he clipped in after good work by Maxi Rodriguez and the Argentine forward made it 2-0 shortly after the break when he netted a fine cross from Martin Petrov.

Henrik Larsson pulled one back for the home side with an instinctive finish midway through the second half but Torres killed off all hopes of a comeback when he latched on to a fine headed pass from Maxi 11 minutes later.

GETAFE 2 ALAVES 2

Getafe got off to a perfect start when defender Mariano Pernia scored from the spot in the third minute. Alaves fought back strongly, levelling with a John Aloisi header 10 minutes later and taking the lead through Rodolfo Bodipo.

Bernd Schuster's side refused to fold, however, and earned a deserved point when striker Daniel Guiza hooked in from close range deep into injury time.

RACING SANTANDER 0 CELTA VIGO 1

Striker Jesus Perera earned a first ever win for Celta at El Sardinero when he stroked the ball past Racing keeper Dudo Aouate after midfielder Fabian Canobbio had slipped a fine pass into his path a minute from time.

REAL SOCIEDAD 2 REAL MALLORCA 1

Sociedad's newly appointed boss Gonzalo Arconada got off to a winning start thanks to a late strike from Chile striker Mark Gonzalez who joined the Basque club on loan from Liverpool last week.

Danish striker Morten Skoubo put Sociedad in front after 13 minutes but the islanders levelled shortly after the half hour when Argentine striker Leonardo Pisculichi hammered home a vicious half-volley.

Gonzalez had the last word, though, when he slid in at the far post to score the winner 20 minutes after being given his debut as a substitute. Defeat left Hector Cuper's side bottom of the standings.

REAL ZARAGOZA 4 REAL BETIS 3

Betis striker Dani scored a hat-trick but still ended up on the losing side at La Romareda.

The home side stormed into a 4-0 lead inside the first 23 minutes. Argentine striker Diego Milito triggered the avalanche of goals with a neat finish and midfielder Oscar added another moments later after a marvellous weaving run from Sergio Garcia.

The former Barcelona player hooked in a third and then set Milito up for his second, but Dani began the Betis fightback with a close-range finish from the restart and scored two more opportunist efforts early in the second half.

Zaragoza had defender Chus Herrero sent off nine minutes from time while Betis right back Fernando Varela was red carded in injury time.

SEVILLA 0 OSASUNA 1

Osasuna won for the first time in five outings in an ill-tempered match at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

Serbia & Montenegro striker Savo Milosevic snatched the winner when he threw himself at a Javier Flano cross to power a diving header inside the far post on the hour.

Sevilla had defender David Castedo was sent off in injury time for dissent.

VILLARREAL 1 CADIZ 1

Villarreal, who have won just once in the last six outings, escaped with a point after Cadiz striker Alexander Medina had a winning goal controversially disallowed for a handball in injury time.

The visitors took the lead with less than a minute on the clock when Medina netted with an angled shot.

Villarreal missed a hatful of chances to level before substitute Javi Calleja grabbed the equaliser in the 62nd minute, but they struggled to hang on after defender Juan Manuel Pena was sent off for diving into a challenge on Alejandro Varela.

DEPORTIVO CORUNA 0 VALENCIA 1

Valencia gained instant revenge for their King's Cup exit at the hands of Deportivo in midweek thanks to a stunning goal from Spain striker David Villa.

Seeing Jose Molina off his line in the 21st minute Villa launched a 45-metre shot over the Depor keeper and into the net for his 14th goal of the season.

Valencia keeper Santiago Canizares saved a twice taken penalty from Victor soon after, and the visitors hung on to keep the pressure on leaders Barcelona.

MALAGA 2 ATHLETIC BILBAO 1

New coach Manuel Hierro earned a win on his debut as Malaga climbed off the foot of the table in a scrappy match.

Malaga's Portuguese defender Litos headed an Antonio Hidalgo free kick into the net for the opening goal after 30 minutes, but another set piece at the other end allowed Aritz Aduriz to head the equaliser before the break.

Two quick yellow cards for Malaga's Nacho saw the midfielder sent off in the 69th minute but Salva Ballesta rose to head the winner from another Hidalgo free kick soon after.

REAL MADRID 4 ESPANYOL 0

Real cruised to a seventh consecutive win in all competitions against their fellow King's Cup semi-finalists.

Guti opened the scoring after 14 minutes, flicking David Beckham's low cross in from close range, and Brazilians Robinho and Roberto Carlos combined down the left to set up Zinedine Zidane for the second late in the first half.

Two minutes later Brazilian defender Cicinho floated a long pass for compatriot Ronaldo to head in and make it 3-0 at the break.

Zidane fired home from outside the area five minutes after the restart and only saves by Gorka Iraizoz and some profligate finishing from the home side prevented a more comprehensive victory.
