Barcelona were made to work for their 17th consecutive win in all competitions, having to come from behind after Fernando Llorente put Bilbao ahead with a flicked header in the 15th minute.

A handball in the area gave Ronaldinho the chance to level from the penalty spot after 36 minutes, and Argentine forward Leo Messi added the second in the 51st minute when Inaki Lafuente could only parry Mark van Bommel's shot.

Barca had Portugal midfielder Deco sent off in the final minute as he over-reacted to Carlos Gurpegi's provocation.

Alaves' new coach Juan Carlos Oliva, who replaced Chuchi Cos during the week, ended a run of three straight defeats in style.

They took a surprise lead when Jandro picked out John Aloisi's run into the area with a floated pass after 21 minutes, and the Australian striker headed into the corner.

Depor were always struggling and in the 51st minute an error allowed Aloisi to cross for Rodolfo Bodipo to steer home.

GETAFE 1 CELTA VIGO 1

Getafe dominated the first half and took the lead on the counter when Daniel Guiza picked out Jaime Gavilan on the edge area, from where he dispatched a half-volley into the far corner.

Celta levelled two minutes after the restart when a low free kick to the near post was poked past Juan Calatayud by defender Angel.

MALAGA 0 CADIZ 2

Cadiz went ahead when Uruguayan striker Alexander Medina rose to head Jonathan Sesma's free kick in the 16th minute, though he actually put the ball inside the near post with his arm.

After 37 minutes Sesma's pass set Medina clear on goal where he finished with a precise lob to make it four games unbeaten for Victor Esparrago's side.

Malaga, who have not won in seven outings, had midfielder Antonio Lopez sent off in the 59th minute

RACING SANTANDER 1 VILLARREAL 0

Racing took the lead on the break after 21 minutes when Raul's deep cross found an unmarked Sergio Matabuena, who buried a flying header inside the far post.

The home side's new signing Pablo Alfaro was sent off just before the break for hauling down Juan Pablo Sorin in the area, but Juan Roman Riquelme's penalty was saved by Dudu Auoate.

Racing were reduced to nine men when Pablo Pinillos was sent off in the 54th minute and the visitors, who have now gone three matches without a win, had Hector Font dismissed in the 62nd minute.

REAL MADRID 4 SEVILLA 2

Zinedine Zidane's first hat-trick for Real helped secure a pulsating victory over Sevilla in the Bernabeu. The French midfielder set up Guti for the first after seven minutes, but Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano drilled an equaliser in at the near post in the 51st minute.

Julio Baptista won a penalty after 57 minutes which Zidane calmly dispatched, and three minutes later he was put in space by a deft backheel from Guti to fire high into the net for Real's third.

Aitor Ocio pulled a goal back for the visitors with five minutes to go, but a swift break in the last minute saw Guti feed Zidane to wrap up the win.

REAL SOCIEDAD 0 ESPANYOL 1

Sociedad dominated and were helped when Espanyol had defender Daniel Jarque sent off in the 42nd minute.

But they could not make the extra man count and Raul Tamudo scored a great individual goal in the last minute, curling in a shot from the edge of the area, to steal all three points for the visitors.

REAL ZARAGOZA 3 REAL MALLORCA 1

Zaragoza have now taken 16 points from their last 18 and were comfortable winners against Mallorca.

Oscar Gonzalez pounced on a poor clearance to head the opener for the home side after 26 minutes, and two minutes later Argentine striker Diego Milito bundled the ball in from close range for the second.

Mallorca's Venezuelan forward Juan Arango curled in a free kick from 25 metres after 75 minutes, but five minutes later Milito hammered in a 20-metre shot to settle the game.

REAL BETIS 1 ATLETICO MADRID 0

Pepe Murcia's first game in charge as Atletico caretaker coach since taking over from the sacked Carlos Bianchi produced an improved performance but no points.

Colombian defender Luis Perea's error allowed Capi to fire low into the corner from the edge of the area on the half-hour mark to extend Atletico's run to 10 league games without a win.

An improving Betis have now taken seven points from their last three games.

VALENCIA 2 OSASUNA 0

In-form Valencia made it eight games unbeaten with a convincing win over second-placed Osasuna.

Spain winger Vicente was carried off with an ankle injury early on but his replacement, Uruguayan Mario Regueiro, opened the scoring just before the break from a tight angle.

Spain striker David Villa headed his 11th goal of the season in the 51st minute from Miguel Angel Angulo's cross and Santiago Canizares made a string of fine saves to deny Osasuna a goal.
