Brief reports of Primera Liga matches played on Sunday:

ALAVES 0 REAL MALLORCA 3

Alaves, the only side in the top flight without a home win this season, were never at the races against Mallorca.

Visiting striker Victor raced on to Juan Arango's lofted pass on 45 minutes to fire in the opener and doubled the lead after 53 minutes, heading Arango's pull back in at the far post.

Italian defender Mark Iuliano scored the third with a rasping volley from a corner in the 66th minute.

CADIZ 1 REAL ZARAGOZA 2

Cadiz created a host of scoring chances against a ragged Zaragoza, but only managed to score once when midfielder Enrique turned in Matias Pavoni's floated pass in the 17th minute.

Zaragoza scored twice in a minute to ease the pressure on coach Victor Munoz and secure only their second win this season.

Midfielder Cani spun clear of two defenders and fired in a low shot from 25 metres in the 69th minute and Brazilian forward Ewerthon scored from a similar distance with a dipping volley that went in off the underside of the bar.

ESPANYOL 1 VALENCIA 3

Valencia were set on their way to a third consecutive win when midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo shot into the roof of the net from Pablo Aimar's cross after 15 minutes.

Spain striker David Villa volleyed home the second two minutes before the break and set up Aimar for the third in the 61st minute.

Espanyol pulled a goal back through Ferran Corominas two minutes later, but not even the dismissal of Valencia's David Albelda 13 minutes from time was enough to put the home side back in contention.

MALAGA 1 OSASUNA 2

Osasuna's Cameroon striker Pierre Webo scored a well-taken solo effort after 23 minutes, but Malaga struck back when Paco Esteban sprung the offside trap and squared for Nacho to level the scores in the 37th minute.

Savo Milosevic swung in a cross to the far post for Valdo to head the winner four minutes before the break in another typically efficient display from Javier Aguirre's side.

RACING SANTANDER 2 REAL SOCIEDAD 2

Sociedad took the lead in the 21st minute when Alvaro Novo sidefooted Nihat Kahveci's cross into the net. Oscar de Paula pounced on a fumble from Racing's Israeli keeper Dudu Aouate to score the second after 52 minutes.

But Antonito pulled a goal back from a knockdown at a free kick after 68 minutes and two minutes from time Sociedad defender Mikel Alonso swiped a clearance against keeper Asier Riesgo and into his own net.

The visitors had striker Gari Uranga sent off in the 81st minute.

SEVILLA 0 DEPORTIVO CORUNA 2

Sevilla self-destructed against Depor after striker Diego Tristan scored a twice-taken penalty in the 25th minute.

Italian midfiedler Enzo Maresca was sent off for continuing to argue with the referee after the penalty. Depor midfielder Victor struck a great shot from outside the area into the top corner four minutes before the break.

Sevilla's Brazilian defender Dani Alves was dismissed after 69 minutes, and Andres Palop saved a 74th-minute penalty from Depor's Uruguayan striker Sebastian Taborda.

VILLARREAL 0 BARCELONA 2

Barca were without injured playmaker Xavi and coach Frank Rijkaard who was ill, but still recorded their seventh consecutive league win.

Ronaldinho's free kick in the 24th minute surprised keeper Sebastian Viera, who parried the ball against defender Juan Manuel Tena and into the home goal.

The second came from the boot of Portugal midfielder Deco in the 63rd minute, but took a hefty deflection off Pena to fool Viera. The defeat was Villarreal's first in 10 league outings.

ATHLETIC BILBAO 1 ATLETICO MADRID 1

Former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman fired home Maxi Rodriguez's long pass after 12 minutes to put Atletico ahead, but from then it was backs to the wall for the visitors.

Bilbao defender Pablo Orbaiz equalised in the sixth minute of added time when his header snuck just inside the post to move the Basque side off the foot of the table, and take Atletico's winles run to five games.

CELTA VIGO 2 REAL BETIS 1

Celta took the lead after only five minutes when a static Betis defence allowed Uruguayan midfielder Fabian Canobbio to stab home Diego Placente's cross from the left.

Placente supplied the cross for Brazilian striker Fernando Baiano to head the second in the 20th minute, and it was not until the final minute that former Celta player Edu managed to pull a goal back for Betis with a close-range header.

The visitors, who have not won away from home in the league this season, had Oscar Lopez sent off in injury time.

REAL MADRID 1 GETAFE 0

Brazil striker Ronaldo returned from injury to put Real ahead in the 18th minute, after playing a one-two with Zinedine Zidane and bursting through to score off a post.

But Getafe dominated the game, even more so after England captain David Beckham was sent off for a red card challenge on visiting striker Riki in the 56th minute.

The visitors failed to make the man advantage count but Real were whistled off the pitch after another lame display in the Bernabeu.
