DEPORTIVO CORUNA 2 SEVILLA 2

Sevilla striker Julio Baptista grabbed a last-gasp equaliser and a valuable away point for Sevilla with a headed goal two minutes into stoppage time.

The visitors had taken the lead just before the break when forward Carlitos scored his third goal in as many games by slotting home after Depor centre back Pablo Amo diverted a cross into his path.

Depor, who made a humiliating midweek Champions League exit, hit back as midfielder Sergio blasted in from the edge of the area and looked to have won when Lionel Scaloni drilled home in the 87th minute after pouncing on a loose ball in the area.

ESPANYOL 2 REAL MALLORCA 1

Espanyol moved into second place behind fellow Catalans Barcelona with a confident win over the struggling islanders.

Argentine defender Mauricio Pochettino put Espanyol ahead when he headed home from a corner in the 27th minute. Midfielder Oscar Serrano made it 2-0 eight minutes later after Ivan de la Pena had hit the bar following a brilliant solo run.

Midfielder Guillermo Pereyra pulled a goal back on the hour when he looped in a header after a free kick by Alejandro Campano but Espanyol's assured performance earned the win.

GETAFE 1 VILLARREAL 2

Villarreal won their first away game of the season thanks to another masterful display from midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme who set up both his side's goals.

The Argentine provided the through ball for Antonio Guayre to put the visitors ahead in the eighth minute and then did the same for substitute Diego Forlan who doubled his side's lead early in the second half.

Getafe grabbed a late consolation when defender Nano headed in from a corner.

MALAGA 1 LEVANTE 0

Brazilian striker Marcio Amoroso secured Malaga's first win in nine games when he scored with a deflected shot two minutes after the break, earning his side a valuable three points that lifted them out of the danger zone.

After a great start to the season, Bernd Schuster's Levante have now gone five games without a win.

OSASUNA 2 REAL ZARAGOZA 2

Uruguayan striker Richard Morales scored his fifth goal in five games to give Osasuna the lead when he smashed the ball under goalkeeper Luis Garcia in the fourth minute.

But Zaragoza equalised 10 minutes later when Oscar slotted home after a shot rebounded off the heel of a defender and into his path and the midfielder took advantage of another defensive error to put his side ahead in the second half.

Osasuna earned a deserved point when midfielder Patxi Punal scored from the penalty spot 15 minutes from time after defender Fernando Soriano had handled in the area.

REAL BETIS 2 RACING SANTANDER 1

Betis moved up to sixth place after a convincing win over the Cantabrians thanks to classy strikes from Brazilian forwards Edu and Ricardo Oliveira.

Edu put the Andalucians in front just before the half hour when he headed back across goal inside the near post after Fernando wafted the ball in from the left.

Oliveira then scored his ninth of the season when he rifled home midway through the second half.

Santander striker Angel Arizmendi got his first goal in the top flight with an injury-time consolation as he finished neatly after a swift counter-attack.

REAL MADRID 1 REAL SOCIEDAD 1

The match at the Bernabeu was abandoned in the 87th minute with the scores level at 1-1 after police received a warning that a bomb would explode at the stadium at 2000 GMT.

The 70,000 fans, players and officials were evacuated in less than 10 minutes and no explosive device was found.

Visitors Sociedad were on top for much of the first half but Real sparked into action after 30 minutes and Ronaldo put them ahead just before the break when he controlled Michel Salgado's cross with his chest, took a step back and fired home with his left foot.

Sociedad levelled midway through the second half when Darko Kovacevic nodded the ball down to Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci who fired home with a spectacular right-foot finish.

Spanish football authorities will decide on Monday whether to play the remaining minutes of the game at a later date or let the result stand.

VALENCIA 1 NUMANCIA 0

Valencia put their European woes behind by notching their fourth league victory in a row with a 1-0 win over basement side Numancia, who have lost all eight of their away games this season.

Centre half Carlos Marchena scored the winner on 21 minutes when he headed in from point-blank range at the far post after Numancia's keeper palmed a Vicente free kick off the line.

ALBACETE 1 BARCELONA 2

Barca snatched a late victory over a determined Albacete thanks to a superb volley from midfielder Xavi five minutes from time.

The Catalans got off to a flying start when highly rated young midfielder Andres Iniesta scored after he had stolen the ball in the Albacete area, but they let the home side back in the match.

Albacete upped the pressure on the visitors in the second half and levelled the game when midfielder Mark Gonzalez got the faintest of touches with his head to direct a free kick into the net, but they were deprived of a point by Xavi's classy finish.

ATHLETIC BILBAO 1 ATLETICO MADRID 0

Bilbao moved clear of the danger zone with this win over Atletico in a tight contest at San Mames.

Atletico keeper Leo Franco produced a near miraculous save to scoop a close-range shot from Bilbao midfielder Carlos Gurpegi off the line in the 38th minute.

But Bilbao fullback Asier del Horno grabbed the winner on the stroke of halftime when he steered in at the far post from what appeared to be an offside position after midfielder Andoni Iraola had swept a pass over the Atletico defence.
