Brief reports of Primera Liga matches played on Wednesday:

CELTA VIGO 2 ALBACETE 2

Celta have still just won one game at home this season and had to come from behind to claim a point against struggling Albacete.

Midfielder Jose Ignacio put the Galicians in front with a first time shot on 19 minutes, but the visitors hit back on the stroke of halftime when Uruguayan striker Antonio Pacheco struck with a rocket shot from 25 metres out.

Albacete went ahead seven minutes after the break when striker Carlos Aranda outpaced the Celta defence, rounded keeper Pablo Cavallero and slotted in from a tight angle. But defender Pablo Contreras prevented a surprise defeat when he bundled in after a Jesuli free kick on 59 minutes.

ESPANYOL 0 OSASUNA 1

Osasuna continued their excellent start to the season when they recovered from a first-half sending off to snatch a gritty win over basement side Espanyol at a rain-drenched Montjuic.

Defender Antonio Lopez was dismissed on the stroke of halftime after a second booking, but the Navarrans kept their cool and Cameroon forward Pierre Webo grabbed the winner three minutes from time when he jinked past one defender and rifled home at the near post.

MALAGA 5 BARCELONA 1

A humiliating defeat for Ronaldinho-less Barcelona, who have now taken just one point from three matches since the Brazilian playmaker was sidelined through injury.

Malaga striker Salva Ballesta was the star of the show, notching a brilliantly taken hat-trick to set his side on the way to a memorable win.

Five minutes after he left the pitch his replacement Diego Alonso scored with his first touch to put Malaga 4-0 up, and although Barca pulled one back when defender Fernando Sanz put through his own net, Manuel Canabal cracked his side's fifth three minutes from time.

REAL BETIS 1 MURCIA 1

Murcia were down to 10 men after a little over two minutes when defender Mikel Roteta was sent off for pulling back pint-sized striker Dani as he raced towards the area, but Betis failed to take advantage in the first half.

Betis joined their opponents on 10 men when defender Luis Fernandez was sent off at the start of the second half, but they recovered to take the lead two minutes later when former Murcia player Ismael curled into the corner.

But Murcia equalised at the death when Luis Garcia scored an injury-time penalty after defender Juanma had been brought down in the area.

REAL MADRID 2 ATLETICO MADRID 0

Real stunned city rivals Atletico with a lesson in deadly finishing from Ronaldo and Raul.

The Brazilian scored a brilliant solo effort straight from the kickoff. Picking the ball up 30 metres out he swerved past one defender, left keeper German Burgos for dead with a shimmy and poked home into the empty net.

The game was effectively over after 19 minutes when Raul added a second with a expert header after David Beckham had picked him out with a pin-point 40-metre pass.

VALLADOLID 1 DEPORTIVO CORUNA 1

Deportivo continued their recent poor run of form with a disappointing draw at a rejuvenated Valladolid who have now gone seven games without a defeat.

The Galicians were gifted the lead when Valladolid defender Jonathan headed a Hector cross into his own net on 49 minutes, but they failed to take advantage and the home side grabbed a deserved equaliser when Oscar headed in a rebound a quarter of an hour later.

VILLARREAL 0 REAL MALLORCA 2

Mallorca continued their impressive revival with a fourth win in a row that pushed them well up the table.

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o struck the opening goal with a sharp first-time shot after he sped past the Villarreal defence on 54 minutes and midfielder Alejandro Campano made sure of the win when he notched his third goal in two games after a fine one-two with Arnold Bruggink.

REAL SOCIEDAD 0 VALENCIA 0

Sociedad were desperately unlucky not to claim their first win in six games against an uninspired Valencia.

Russian midfielder Valery Karpin had a goal ruled out for a non-existent offside in the third minute and Sociedad were denied another when Darko Kovacevic was adjudged to have fouled a defender before he cracked in from the edge of the box.

Substitute Nihat Kahveci hit the bar and Igor Galilondo had two successive goal-bound shots cleared off the line in the second half, while Valencia only really threatened once when midfielder Francisco Rufete fluffed his chance after racing clear late on.
