Brief reports of matches played in the Primera Liga on Sunday:

ALMERIA 2 BARCELONA 2

Teenager Bojan Krkic pounced to put Barca ahead when Diego Alves failed to hold Andres Iniesta’s shot in the 17th minute, but Almeria levelled from a corner when defender Ruben Pulido was given a free header.

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o put away Thierry Henry’s pull back after the restart but after Argentina defender Gabriel Milito was sent off in the 72nd minute, Barca were pressed back.

The equaliser came from another corner as Nigerian Kalu Uche headed past Victor Valdes in the 85th. Barca have not won in three league outings.

ATLETICO MADRID 3 LEVANTE 0

Portugal winger Simao Sabrosa headed Atletico’s opener after good work from Diego Forlan midway through the first half, and Simao returned the favour with a great set-up for Forlan before the break.

The Uruguayan striker grabbed his second just after the interval pouncing on a loose ball after the keeper was unable to hold Sergio Aguero’s shot, and killed off the game.

ESPANYOL 2 REAL MALLORCA 1

Mallorca will wonder how they lost this one after striker Daniel Guiza gave them an early lead, as they created a host of chances.

They were pegged back when Espanyol’s Luis Garcia was fouled in the area just after the break, and the Spain striker levelled from the penalty spot. Garcia grabbed his second with a far-post header in the 89th minute.

GETAFE 2 RACING SANTANDER 1

Getafe gained the psychological edge over their King’s Cup semi-final opponents ahead of Wednesday’s second leg, with this comeback win.

Poland striker Ebi Smolarek headed Racing in front just after the break but Nigeria striker Ikechukwu Uche levelled with a far post half-volley in the 67th minute.

Midfielder Jaime Gavilan headed the winner 13 minutes from time and Racing goalkeeper Tono lost his head to get himself sent off. Getafe’s Braulio followed him down the tunnel.

VALLADOLID 0 OSASUNA 0

Struggling Valladolid edged out of the relegation places with this draw while Osasuna made it four games unbeaten.

VILLARREAL 2 REAL ZARAGOZA 0

Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci lobbed the keeper to put Villarreal ahead after only 11 minutes but it was Zaragoza who dominated from there on as they called Diego Lopez into action on numerous occasions.

The home side were awarded a penalty in the 66th minute which Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi put away to leave Zaragoza deep in relegation trouble.

DEPORTIVO CORUNA 1 REAL MADRID 0

Real Madrid barely had a shot on target in a poor showing at Depor as they made it 16 seasons without a win at the Riazor.

The match was decided when home defender Felipe cut in from the left and crossed to the near post where Real’s Portugal defender Pepe deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper Iker Casillas with his knee.

REAL BETIS 1 ATHLETIC BILBAO 2 (Abandoned)

The game was abandoned with Bilbao leading 2-1 after visiting goalkeeper Armando was hit in the face by a bottle thrown from the stands in the second half.

Midfielder Fran Yeste had given Bilbao the lead when he broke clear to score after eight minutes but Chilean forward Mark Gonzalez grabbed a deserved equaliser when he fired against the post and put away the rebound before the break.

Midfielder David Lopez put Bilbao back in front with a twice-taken penalty in the 66th before Armando was injured.

RECREATIVO HUELVA 4 REAL MURCIA 2

Murcia scored their first goal in six matches when midfielder Enrique de Lucas fired in from a knockdown at a freekick in the 16th minute, but French striker Florent Sinama Pongolle levelled with a header three minutes later.

Argentine Marco Ruben put Recre 2-1 up in the second half with a great finish and Sinama Pongolle made it 3-1 just after Murcia had defender Cesar Arzo sent off in the 69th.

Striker Ivan Alonso pulled one back from the penalty spot for Murcia in the 74th but midfielder Marquitos wrapped up the points for Recre with five minutes to go.

VALENCIA 1 SEVILLA 2

Sevilla stormed in front with Brazil striker Luis Fabiano curling in a freekick after 11 minutes and he soon reacted quickly to divert Seydou Keita’s long-range shot past Timo Hildebrand, taking his tally for the season to 22.

Valencia’s poor home form continued to dog them and although they pulled a goal back through defender Raul Albiol at a corner in the 90th they offered little else.
