Premiership clubs alerted as Real Madrid consider Owen, Woodgate futures

Premiership clubs are monitoring the shake-up at Real Madrid since the arrival last week of new GM Arrigo Sacchi.

The former Italy manager has already sacked coach Mariano Garcia Remon and replaced him with Brazilian Wanderlei Luxemburgo.

The Sunday Mirror says Sacchi is drawing up a list of players he feels are surplus to requirements at the club - and it is understood that both Michael Owen and Jonathan Woodgate will be made available.

Owen has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, while Woodgate is being mentioned with hometown Middlesbrough and Everton.
