Portugal: Schuster style suited Real Madrid

Real Madrid technical chief Miguel Angel Portugal believes Bernd Schuster's approach was better suited to the Spanish giants.

Comparing the German with current coach Juande Ramos, Portugal said: "The team works differently now. With Schuster, it was a more open manner and with Juande it is closed. The group is more airtight."

"With Schuster, he had more focus on the individual and Juande is more associated with the team."

"Vicente del Bosque says the big teams must have open systems so the great players can show their talent and do more. Schuster worked in this spirit, as do other coaches.

"Personally, I like talent that is committed to teamwork."
