Perez to declare for Real Madrid presidency next week

Florentino Perez will declare his candidacy for the Real Madrid presidency next week.

Sport says Perez has been planning his return as Real president since Christmas, but refused to discuss it publicly until the election date was set in stone.

The former Real supremo is confident he has the members with him and also believes he will run unopposed due to the requirement set by the current board that all candidates must have a £50 million transfer kitty immediately available.

Real's board will officially announce the election schedule next week and soon after Perez will declare his hand. In his first statement, Perez is expected to address the past management of Ramon Calderon and also name several potential signings.
