Perez Doubtful On Salgado's Real Future

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is doubtful as to whether Michel Salgado will sign a contract extension with the club.

"If we have not reached an agreement by the end of the week we will leave it until May, although the reality is if by Sunday there is no news I believe it will be difficult for the player to continue at Real Madrid," he said.

"We have made a big effort, the best we could, to make Salgado stay at the club."

"We are convinced of his value on the pitch, but if he has a superior offer then we would understand that he might move on."
