Perez denies Real's interest in Nesta

Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez has denied the reports by the Italian broadcasting station Radioradio, which claimed that Royal Club wanted to sign S.S. Lazio center back Alessandro Nesta.

According to the radio station, the sides involved have reached an agreement at the beginning of October. The deal was reported to amount 75 million dollars.

However, the Real chairman announced yesterday that the Spanish champions do not need a center back at the moment.

"I don't think we need to strengthen our defence. Though, of course, everything depends on coaches. As for me I wouldn't sign a player like Nesta."

"Moreover, I am already sick and tired with ruling out reports like this. I can officially declare that our club haven't had any contacts with Nesta. Besides, Real are not going to sign any player till the end of this season."
