Pellegrini: Real Madrid Have An Obligation To Win

Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini has revealed he well aware of the club's obligation to win football matches.

"We play based on the obligation of winning our matches,” he told RealMadrid.com. “We are not concerned about Barcelona. Every point counts. We don't feel any pressure from Barcelona and it isn't true that we treat each match as if it was a final."

The coach also spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting that he was hopeful that the club would win their latest appeal against CR9’s suspension.

"We are waiting to see what the committee has to say. He is a very important player but we have to wait."

Finally, speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash at home to Espanyol, the coach insisted he was only thinking of the next fixture.

"It is important to earn as many points as possible because each point that we lose makes accomplishing our goals that much more difficult," he said. "Our goal now is to win the next match at home and then travel to Xerez without any doubts."
