Pellegrini convinced Metzelder to stick with Real Madrid

Christophe Metzelder admits he's been convinced by coach Manuel Pellegrini about staying with Real Madrid.

The Germany defender was ready to quit Real this summer and said: "It's normal. All footballers want to play and it's not easy being on the bench or in the stands, but we are obliged to prepare as best as possible."

"I'm a guy who likes to train every day, like a good German fighter."

"I talked to the coach and he told me he was counting on me. I have a very good feeling about staying now."
