Pellegrini claims Florentino handed him unbalanced Real Madrid squad

Manuel Pellegrini says Real Madrid’s squad was unbalanced last season.

The Chilean coach insists they struggled to win big games last term because of a poorly built squad under president Florentino.

He told El Mercurio: "We did not win the Champions League because we didn't have a structured squad to win it, and that was my main disagreement (with club president Florentino Perez). In the Cup we did very badly, it was a shame and I am totally responsible for that."

"We had a difference of opinion regarding the formation of the squad. Some players whom I felt important were sold."
