Pele: I Have No Problem With Ronaldo

Brazil legend Pele says he feels no animosity towards Ronaldo after the Real Madrid striker's comments about his goals record for the Selecao.

Ronaldo suggested that Pele's record of 95 goals be recalculated because some of them came against weak opponents.

But Pele said: "If it is good for Brazil I hope that Ronaldo can beat my record and even duplicate it. I hope that God helps him score twice as many goals as I have scored."

"I don't have any problem with what Ronaldo said. It was good because the Brazilians don't have a good memory and many of them had already forgotten all the goals I made for the national team and now Ronaldo has made them remember all that."

"It was something very nice for me because a great player like Ronaldo said that he wants to break the record of his idol Pele. There wasn't any polemic like the press said. We have to think about big things, look forward, and that's why what Ronaldo said has made me proud."
