Pedja: Real Madrid now targeting players with potential

Real Madrid sports chief Pedja Mijatovic admits they've been thinking about transfer targets for the January market since September.

"When the new leadership came in, we were in a very difficult situation," explained Mijatovic. "We had to make signings that were ready to make an impact immediately."

"But from September our thinking has shifted. We are now looking at players of great potential. Ones for the future."

He added: "Our prime goal is to win a trophy as quickly as possible. Marketing is important, but the sports subject is more so."
