Paul Pogba is Manchester United-bound, but wanted Real Madrid move

Guillem Balague has given the green light on Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United.

Several media outlets have reported all week that the France star is set to return to Old Trafford, and well-connected Spanish journalist Balague has reiterated as much, in this appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live.

According to Balague, United’s financial clout has been the difference in this deal; Real Madrid wanted to sign him, but simply wouldn’t match the amount of cash United were willing to splash on Pogba.

In fact, Balague believes that Pogba isn’t overly excited about returning to United, where he’ll have to play Europa League football next season.

Which seems a petty argument; with Mourinho now in charge, United will surely be back in the Champions League in 2017.
