Ozil tells Werder Bremen: Let me join Real Madrid

Werder Bremen ace Mesut Ozil says he wants to join Real Madrid.

Real GM Jorge Valdano confirmed on Friday that an offer had been made - and rejected - for the midfielder.

"I am very sad, and I told (Werder sports chief Klaus) Allofs," Ozil told Marca.

"I wish they would accept the offer, the dream of any player is to be part of one of the largest clubs in Europe."
