Owen tops Madrid wanted list

According to Spanish media reports, Real Madrid are looking to clinch a deal for Liverpool and England sriker Michael Owen.

The 21-year-old forward is apparently top of the Bernebeu giant's wish list along with AC Milan and Ukraine forward Andriy Shevchenko and Arsenal's French international Thierry Henry.

However, any move for Owen by any club would seem doubtful bearing in mind the player has recently extended his contract with the Reds until 2005.

Furthermore, the Spanish champions will have to offload several players to sign the Englishman, that being only if Liverpool were wiling to let him go.
