Owen seeks Real Madrid crunch talks

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen will hold crunch talks with president Florentino Perez when he returns from England duty in the United States.
 
Owen wants to know from Perez whether he will be part of next season's plans and despite public declarations over the weekend that he wants to stay in Madrid, is now seriously considering a summer return to the Premiership.

Real have received approaches from no less than six English clubs this month, along with a formal enquiry from Germany's Schalke 04.

However, despite the interest of Schalke, Bolton, Everton and Newcastle, Owen is only interested in three clubs if he is to return to England.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, which have all registered their interest with Real, are the three clubs Owen would be prepared to leave Madrid for.

United are the frontrunners for Owen, with Spanish press reports suggesting neither the England star, nor Jose Reyes, have heard anything official about a mooted swap with Arsenal, which was floated earlier this month.
