Owen: Liverpool's Gerrard flattered by Real Madrid interest

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen says former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard is delighted the Spanish giants are interested in signing him.

Owen told AS: "He is very interested in knowing how I am doing here. The day that I scored my first goal I received 20 or 25 messages, and one of them was his."

"I spoke with him two days ago, because he is injured, and he said to me that everything is going well. I do not mean to upset the fans of Liverpool. Yes I can comment that it is very exciting for Gerrard that a club like Madrid pays attention and is interested in him."
