Owen: I'm happy at Real Madrid

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen has reaffirmed his ambitions to stay with the Spanish giants next season.
 
New Manchester United owners, the Glazer family, have Owen high on their summer shopping list, but the England ace insists he wants to stay with Real.

After Saturday's Madrid derby, Owen said: "I hope to continue here. I have a contract and nobody from the club has come to me or my representatives to say the opposite."

"Nothing has been communicated to me on the matter and for that reason I consider myself a player of the group of Real Madrid and will return to do preseason."

"It has been a wonderful experience and I have enjoyed very much my first year here. Adapting to change is never easy, but I have felt very comfortable, I have been useful to the team and have enjoyed opportunities."

"Madrid is a fantastic place to live and I am happy. I know that there has been much speculation on my future at Real Madrid, but it has been more in England than here in Spain."
