Owen hoping goals flow for Real Madrid

After breaking his duck this week, Michael Owen hopes the goals will now flow for him at Real Madrid.

"It was something very positive for me," the England striker told AS yesterday. "Hopefully it is the start of something positive for me."

"I was beginning to wonder where the first goal would come from. So I was very happy - and slept very well - on Tuesday night."

"My phone hasn't stopped ringing with well wishers. Many of my old teammates from Liverpool have called to congratulate me."

Owen admits language problems are preventing him from settling in fully at Real Madrid.

"The problem is that the coach (Mariano Garcia Remon) does not speak English - and I do not speak Spanish. I have the same problems with my teammates."

"As a new player at Real Madrid there is great pressure to perform. My Spanish is improving, I'm taking classes every afternoon. But I still have a lot to learn."
