Owen cool on Liverpool: I'll fight for Real Madrid success

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen says he will "fight to the death" to be a success in Spain.

Owen has been linked with a return to Liverpool next season after a difficult opening two months at Real.

But he told The Sun: "I'm no quitter and I'm 100 per cent sure those headlines will be reversed in no time.

"I am going to fight to the death and I'm sure I will prove to the death and I'm sure I will prove to be a success out there. I know for a fact Real Madrid have not seen anything like the best of me yet."

He added: "The criticism has come quicker than I expected but it's not new to me."

"I didn't go into this move with blinkers on. I knew what I was going into, the new language, new home, new team-mates. So, of course, I don't regret the move."
