Osasuna looms as Woodgate's Real Madrid debut

Real Madrid's coaching and fitness staff have agreed that Jonathan Woodgate's targeted comeback should be the September 22 clash with Osasuna.

The England international has begun running and is working on his own under the watch of Real fitness trainer Jose San Martin.

Woodgate will join the rest of the squad later next week and Real's technical staff have decided that the home clash with Osasuna later this month is a realistic date for him to make his debut.

Real want Woodgate to play his first game for the club in front of the Bernabeu fans - which means ruling out the September 19 clash at Espanyol.
