No More Transfers For Real - Valdano

Real Madrid chief executive Jorge Valdano said the Spanish champions will not recruit more players this season? This declaration quashes the rumours linking Arsenal's defensive midfielder Patrick Vieira to the Merengues.

"We do not feel the need to add any players to the team at this stage" Valdano told the press. "Neither now nor in December, when the mercado re-opens".

Alessandro Nesta's transfer to Madrid will not go on in the forthcoming weeks but next season, as it was often said.

Valdano said that Real willingly kept a low profile these past few days about transfer rumours.

"We can't possibly issue a denial for each and every rumour linking a player to Real !" he said.
