Neymar 'can make difference' says Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has praised Barcelona star Neymar, amid rumours of a potential move between La Liga rivals.

The 23-year-old has denied reports that he met with Madrid officials before the FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony last month.

But Ramos said that the Brazilian could provide a big impact at any top side, including Real Madrid.

"Neymar is a great player who can make the difference," the defender told Manda Pelotas.

"Football is unpredictable and there will always be transfer rumours."

"But the one thing you will never see is Sergio Ramos joining Barcelona."

Ramos added that he hoped that Cristiano Ronaldo would stay long term at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, despite reported links to Manchester United, PSG and MLS in recent months.

"As Madrid captain, I would like to see Cristiano here for many more years," he said. "He is a real star."

Barcelona are three points clear at the top of La Liga from Atletico Madrid, with a game in hand, after a 2-1 win against Atleti on Saturday.

Real Madrid are third on 47 points after a Ronaldo hat trick powered them to a 6-0 victory over Espanyol on Sunday.
