Newcastle to make offer for Real Madrid's Owen

Newcastle United are ready to offer £10 million to Real Madrid for striker Michael Owen.

The Geordies have already failed in a loan bid for the England ace, who only moved to Real in the summer from Liverpool.

Owen last night admitted he is fed up on the bench at Real and could be forced to consider his future.

The Sun says Mags boss Graeme Souness wants the Newcastle board to release the money to buy the England striker with two weeks to go before the transfer window shuts.
