Newcastle's Owen hints Beckham missing Premiership

Newcastle United signing Michael Owen has revealed how David Beckham is always talking about the Premiership with Real Madrid teammates.
 
After just one season in Spain, Owen arrived at Newcastle last Wednesday. And he confessed that Becks is always tuned into the Premiership action and just loves talking about it.

Says Owen: "David Beckham and Jonathan Woodgate were trying to persuade me to stay at Real, but in the end I had to come home."

"We were all in a foreign country playing our football and some things are great and at times some things are more difficult."

"But we have all grown up in the Premiership and we always used to talk about that while we were in Spain."

"Sometimes we would see something on the telly from a Premiership ground while we were watching a live match and Becks would talk of his memories there and how he loved playing at this ground or that one."

"We all had that in common and that was one of the main things we'd talk about out there."
