Newcastle in frame for Real Madrid fullback Salgado

Newcastle United have made an enquiry after Real Madrid fullback Michel Salgado.
 
The Spain international is weighing up his future at Real with Sao Paulo fullback Cicinho due to arrive in December as coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo's preferred choice at right-back.

Salgado is ready to move away on-loan and his representatives have fielded approaches from Juventus and Inter Milan in the last month.

Newcastle are also being linked with Salgado and given the strong relationship between the two there is concern in Italy that should chairman Freddy Shepherd ask for the defender, Real will be happy to send him to England for the second-half of the season.
