Newcastle eye Real Madrid winger Munitis

Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Real Madrid misfit Pedro Munitis.

The midfielder is currently on loan with Racing Santander and is expected to return to Madrid in the coming days.

The former European champions are desperate to get the Spaniard off their pay-roll, where he currently earns around £40,000 per-week.

Magpies boss Sir Bobby Robson is eyeing Munitis as cover for winger Laurent Robert, who has been linked with a move away from the North East.

However, Munitis' representatives insist they have heard nothing from anybody at Newcastle.

It is reported that the player has been offered to several Premiership clubs in recent days.
