Fresh doubt over the future of Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has emerged after it was revealed the club has only spoken with him twice about a new contract.
DiarioSport says Casillas is seriously considering his future at Real following this week's revelation that president Florentino Perez has made an inquiry after Juventus No1 Gigi Buffon.
Casillas' current deal expires in 2006 and his agent, Gines Carvajal, has only been invited twice over the last 12 months to the club to discuss a new contract.
Its understood Perez is also refusing to put Casillas on a par with the club's highest wage earners. Indeed, despite his status, Casillas' new offer will be little over half what the likes of Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane are currently earning.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is monitoring the situation very closely. He already has a detailed dossier on Casillas from his assistant and ex-Real Madrid trainer Carlos Queiroz.
Reports in January suggested United were ready to more than double Casillas' current wages to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer.
