New Dea Gea Real rumours

Real Madrid are reportedly planning a fresh swoop to sign David de Gea from Manchester United before the transfer window closes.

The 26-year-old Spain international goalkeeper has been consistently linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu since his proposed switch two years ago collapsed due to a late mix-up over the paperwork.

However, it looked like a move to the Spanish capital was off for this summer when United boss Jose Mourinho insisted at the end of last month that Madrid had missed their chance to make a swoop.

It appeared Los Blancos' coach Zinedine Zidane was happy to stick with current number one Keylor Navas and focus on bolstering his outfield options ahead of the new season.

But fresh reports claim that the reigning Spanish and European champions' failure to sign Monaco's teenage star Kylian Mbappe has resulted in a switch in focus for the club and they are set to launch a renewed bid for De Gea.

United will no doubt do all they can to keep their star custodian at Old Trafford, given that he is tied to the club until 2019, with the option of a further year.

However Real Madrid are set to tempt them with a £46million bid and can easily match De Gea's current £200,00-a-week wages at United.
