Napoli plan bid for Real Madrid's Guti

Napoli are planning an ambitious bid for Real Madrid midfielder Guti.

Guti isn't guaranteed a start in coach Bernd Schuster's Real plans and that has alerted Napoli chiefs to his potential availability.

"I feel better and I want to play," he admitted yesterday.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis sees Guti as the big-name signing needed next season to confirm their regained status as one of Italy's prime clubs.
